Guest Speaker:

Paul Hand
General Manager - North Region
CSX Intermodal Terminals

Paul is currently, the General Manager of the North Region, CSX Intermodal Terminals. Responsible for 21 CSX Intermodal rail terminals in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Montreal and Massachusetts. Responsible for safe operations of all terminals and service delivery for CSX Intermodal Customers. Prior to this role, Paul served as the Director, Logistics, Safety, and Training. In this role he was responsible for utilization, maintenance, procurement, and disposition of all equipment assigned to CSX Intermodal. The latter includes over 140 pieces of lift equipment, almost 20,000 dry van containers, terminal vehicles and other miscellaneous equipment. Prior to joining CSX Paul also had a distinguished Marine Corps’ career demonstrating a continuous record of accomplishments in multiple fields including management of large organizations, extensive logistics experience, and commodity management. Promoted through the rank of Colonel and selected for command at every rank. Managed diverse staff functions including logistics, training, education, doctrine, and safety.

Paul holds an MS degree from the University of Denver in Intermodal Transportation. He also holds an MS degree from the University of Tampa in Technology and Innovation Management. He also holds an MA from the United States Naval War College in National Security and Strategic Studies. Paul did his undergraduate work at the University of Florida and is a lifelong Gator.
